Mill Farm Holiday Park Celebrates David Bellamy's Green Award

Professor David Bellamy has named Mill Farm Holiday Park as one of UK’s greenest places to take a holiday- and awarded it a special accolade for protecting the natural world.

Set in 25 acres of tranquil countryside Mill Farm is the proud holder of the David Bellamy Gold Conservation award which celebrates parks with forward-looking environmental policies.

We have been the holder of this accolade for the last 23 consecutive years. This year we also gained the Honey Bee Award for the second year running, and for the first year the new Wildflower Award.

The family-run business provides luxury holiday homes to buy and rent, plus fully serviced pitch facilities for touring caravan’s motorhomes and tents.

Over the past 20 years, we have planted hundreds of indigenous trees and hedges on the park, creating a natural haven for wildlife.

The carefully managed pools are also a focus for many different residents and visiting bird species, as well as dragonflies, newts and other aquatic life.

We have created several wildlife areas, each year sowing high nectar-bearing blooms, which provide valuable foraging resources for honey bees and other pollinators.

We have always tried to manage Mill Farm along sustainable lines, to include harvesting rainwater for irrigating plants, and sourcing local commodities. Mill Farm has long had a special appeal to guests seeking a perfect escape in a tranquil setting.

We have always felt very privileged to live and work in such a beautiful part of Shropshire, and have tried to ensure the park blends in with these beautiful surrounds.
